The Season Is Over; Let the Rebuilding Begin
The Kansas City Chiefs went to
Indianapolis for their first playoff game in
three years, and didn't even bother to show up.
The Chiefs were humiliated 23-8 by the Colts,
and the score was far too close to what the
stats sheet showed. The Chiefs players on
offense looked like they were pissed that they
were there and should've already been on their
off season plans. The defense played their
asses off and tried to keep the team in it, but
the offense couldn't even muster a first down
until there was three minutes left in the THIRD
QUARTER. The Chiefs forced three picks of
Peyton Manning, and recovered a muffed punt
snap, and scored NO POINTS FROM THOSE
TURNOVERS!!! Most folks have said KC shouldn't
have been there, and they backed their way into
the playoffs. Looks like most folks were
right. The Chiefs didn't belong on the same
field as the Colts. At one point, the Colts had
outgained the Chiefs 335 yards to 21 yards (that
is not a typo). The Chiefs offense looked
extremely old and could not generate any
offense. The same group that looked like
killers last week against the Jags laid eggs all
over the RCA Dome. The Chiefs receivers dropped
pass after pass (Ty Law had more receptions that
Eddie Kennison and Sammie Parker COMBINED
(Parker and EK had ZERO CATCHES)) and the
running game never got going against the leagues
worst rush defense. The Chiefs were ran out of
the NFL tournament once again by the Colts (96,
03, and 06) and were never at any time in the
game. The Chiefs season is now officially over,
and we might have seen the last of Trent Green,
Tony Gonzalez, Will Shields, and Dante Hall in
Kansas City uniforms.
